About the Central Elements Logo:
The quote, "a photo is worth 1000 words" could not be any more appropriate than it is here. Resonating within this singular shot of two children is the human condition seen at it's most vulnerable moment. Love and fear, connection and disconnection, are prominently portrayed in what can only be described as a modern American take on the Yin-Yang symbol.
The dichotomy present between the two boys is accentuated by their KISS make-up - one with darker colors, the other lighter. However, it is their common emotional resonance that bonds the two together, as if to say behind the masks we wear, there is an irrational fear and uncertainty that connects every one of us. The emotional response captured by the photo conflicts with what should have been a time for smiles, making for a more candid shot of their conflicted childhoods.
Transcending time, this once painful memory has changed its stars to represent a much greater force as the face of the artist collective "Central Elements". As the Central Elements logo, this photo has touched thousands of people's lives, and traveled the world to be found in countries such as Turkey and London; and residing in obscure locations like the set of television shows, street signs, and in other works of artistic expression.
Through all of our differences, the bonding element of this photo, and humanity in general, is the flag of childhood that we all share in common.
