Tata Blacks Tata Blacks

"Tata Blacks", was born Terrence Tedroy Henry, on December 25, 1983 at the Spanish town Hospital, St Catherine, Jamaica to parents Fregreca Bassick and Obedia Henry. At the age of 14 Tata lived with two of his sisters in Claremont District in the same parish. His father died when he was eighteen so his mother moved in with him and his sisters.

Tata Blacks, is a Jamaican Reggae singer who is said to have gotten his stage name from his friends while attending school. He has been noted for having a high tenner range singing voice.

At the age of 14 he passed his grade nine achievement exam and graduated from Bois Content All Age. He moved on to the Tacious Golding High School where he graduated at the age of 18, with seven subjects. From there he moved on to Knox Teachers College to pursue a career in teaching and did a one year course. After that one year, now at the age of 19, Tata was employed to the ministry of education as an office clerk. He was employed for about two years after which he decided to take up a religion as a Rastafarian.

He began to M.C at a few community events and even played on a few sound systems as a selector. But his true love was music, that’s where his true talent lied, so in 2009 while he was performing at a stage show, Tata met Delano Smith, who is a producer for Push Hitz Records. And after hearing his unique tenner voice and his catchy phrases, Delano introduced Tata to Desmond Hepburn, who is the Executive Producer, and Clinton Jones, who is the Road Manager. After listening to a few demo tracks they decided to sign Tata to their record label, "Push Hitz Records", in March 2010. From there, Tata Blacks Push has recorded a number of songs such as "I Nah Give Up", "Pagan Dem", "Money" and "Let’s Go Party".
