It's definitely been a long road of where we came from... they say the tribulations we have experienced mold us to who we become today. Skeez 181 aka David Flores, 31 and Mexican... hailing from Houston, Texas... ex-graffiti vandal turned pro "legally" after one too many run ins with the law as a youth. The turning point came in 1994 when a local newspaper in Houston showcased the talents of a graffiti writer to do a live street painting exhibition for a festival held in the city's art district. After the exposure to Houston's art scene, he continued spray painting murals for local businesses until 1996 when he was approached with the honor to spray paint murals for Coca-Cola's Art of Harmony program, a national student art competition with the theme "Living in Harmony" the winning student's artwork would be duplicated by Skeez in large scale usually in a "high traffic" area i.e. shopping malls, parks, etc. Now 16 years since his first spray can "tag", Skeez has managed to land contract murals for major corporations across the U.S. including M&M's candy, Dodge, Universal records etc.
"I feel very blessed to be continuing my passion of graffiti through commissioned works." Says Skeez.
